Events & Crowds

Crowd Control

Queue design, capacity management and line discipline — the work that keeps a crowd from becoming a problem.

Praxon Security officers providing crowd control

Overview

What this covers

Crowds rarely turn dangerous suddenly. They get compressed, they stop moving, they lose sight of where the line goes, and pressure builds until something gives. Most crowd incidents are the outcome of a layout decision made hours earlier.

Praxon crowd staff work on the physical design as much as the presence: where the barriers go, how wide the lane is, where the crowd can bleed off, and who is counting. Officers are trained in verbal de-escalation and in recognising density problems before they become crush conditions.
